SATURDAY = ANTIQUE HUNTING

I look forward to Saturday all week long. Treasure hunting and trekking through the city's most random spots is my idea of a good time. I feel like a modern day Indiana Jones. But with better outfits.

There is something strangely romantic about holding an object in my hand and thinking about those who held it before me. Definitely some great finds today. I was reminded of a great place called The Rink last night. So I stopped there first. Then I did a little of what I call "Destination-less Driving" until I happened upon a few other nameless places in the area.

Chinoiserie lighting makes my heart happy. AND, it is brass. Hell, yeah.

So in love with this fabric at the bottom of this display case. Reminds me of the wallpaper that I found behind the walls when re-doing my bathroom.

OFFICE OVERHAUL

For years now I've written from the comfort of my 1950's velvet couch. Curled up with a glass of wine and probably MC Solaar, I've been content to not have a desk.

Until recently. I hate having inspiration spread all over the living room. So disorganized. So I made a little workspace in the corner of my room. I found this desk here for a steal. Insane how cheap it was. It only came in black and brown. So I slapped a couple coats of spray paint on and voila! Insta-desk. Oh. I also had a piece of custom glass cut to fit the top of it to keep it nice and shiny. And to prevent stains from when I spill my wine/coffee.

MARTINIQUE LOVE

Some of my fondest memories are from life in the tropics. I suppose there will always be a soft spot in my heart for anything that reminds me of the jungle. This martinique pattern is no exception. It tugs at my heart strings so bad! I wish I could fill my house with it.

I can't believe that I've finally had my house painted. Since the first day I bought it, I knew that I'd wanted it a different colour. At first I wanted white. Than green. Than pink. (For real) Than, in a nod to my favorite basketball team, I chose Benjamin Moore Thunder Gray. Isn't it lovely? So happy with how it has turned out.
